THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 17, 1767

* Pre Revolutionary War tensions

Page 3 has an interesting item which notes: "It is assured, that the late extraordinary resolutions of a town meeting at Boston, New England, were the last efforts of a dying faction, that the inhabitants in general, both of that town and of the province, wholly disapprove those proceedings, and are perfectly easy & satisfied with the measures taken here."
How wrong they were! This is an interesting counterpoint to the Revolutionary War which would soon follow.
Another page has a report headed: "America" with reports datelined "Georgia" and "Charles-Town", the former noting: "...The affair at St. Mary's River was not quite so bad as reported: two men were killed and a third wounded...No other mischief was committed except the plundering of Lemon's store...the murder was in revenge for old Mill's having whipped some of their people like slaves, and afterwards pickled their backs..." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
