Item # 636290
November 8, 1887
HAWAIIAN GAZETTE, Honolulu, Hawaii, Nov. 8, 1887
* Rare 19th century Hawaiian issue
Nineteenth century newspapers from Hawaii are extremely uncommon and therefore very desirable among collectors. Here is such an issue from what is now the capital city of Hawaii, and from when Hawaii was known as the Kingdom of Hawaii.
Half of the front page is taken up with ads, and the other half is reporting from: "The Legislative Assembly" carrying over to take half of the back page. Much of the remaining pages are taken up with various Hawaii reports including a column on: "Island Locals" and "Kamehameha School" plus a variety of advertisements, many illustrated.
Complete in 8 pages, irregular at the spine with some margin tears, some discrete archival mends to inside pages, generally good condition. Should be handled with care.
