* re. General George Custer's massacre

Although this is considered a religious newspaper there is much secular reporting as well, with a nearly column-long article on the front page: "Gen. George A. Custer" being a biography of him (see). A small bit includes: "...When he returned he was deprived of his honorable command & ordered to join his regiment, at teh head of which he has perished in a combat with savages, whether through his own recklessness or while desperately attempting to perform an impossible service imposed by his superior officers we can not know now..." with a bit more on his time at the Little Horn further on (see). This was from just after the Custer Massacre in Montana.
Eight pages, nice condition.
