A terrific & early issue on the California Gold Rush as nearly half of the front page has great gold-related content, items headed: "The Gold Region Of California", plus a letter datelined from "Monterrey, California, July 31, 1848; a "Proclamation" from Monterey, Calif., beginning: "Whereas many citizens have gone to the gold mines of the Sacramento without making proper provision for the families they have left behind..." with more (see).
