May 29, 1783
DREWRY'S DERBY MERCURY, England, May 29, 1783 The front page has a very detailed account of a ship being pirated on its way from Boston to France (see). The back page has a bit noting; "So that the Americans have obtained their purpose of Independence, and gone through the whole Seven Years War for about one half the sum of money that one year of the same war cost England. It is true, there are particular debts in each state, but they are local & distinct from the public debt, & owing to the depreciation and total failure of the paper money, are looked upon as mere bagatelles."
Four pages, nice condition.
