An inside page has a report headed: "Gen. Jackson's Address to the Army" datelined from his headquarters, Montpelier, & signed in type: Andrew Jackson, Major General, commanding the division of the South. This report takes close to a full column and is his official farewell address to his soldiers, the text beginning: "This day, officers and soldiers, closes my military functions, and consequently, dissolves the military connection which has hitherto existed between you and myself..." with much more (see).
Also of interest is over six pages taken up with: "Coronation of George IV" with considerable detail on the festivities & ceremonies.
Among other reports in this issue are a letter signed in type by: John Adams, and an article on "Pensacola" among other items.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/2 by 10 inches, scattered foxing, a minor flaw to the front page not affecting any mentioned articles.
This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
