February 27, 1746

EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, Feb. 27, 1746  The front page has a nice report: "To the King's Most Excellent Majesty" concerning the on-going Jacobite Rebellion, with the writers' show of support for the current King, a few bits noting: "...Sentiments of Gratitude & zeal to acknowledge your Majesty's tender & fatherly care of our country in sending down his Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland & to congratulate the success of your Majesty's army under his command over the Pretender's son & his rebellious adherents. We lament this unnatural rebellion, begun & chiefly carried on by our countrymen; we detest such as would exchange your majesty's mild & lawful government for a merciless despotick tyranny under a Popish Pretender..." with much more.
Four pages, 8 by 10 inches, minor loss at the blank spine, good condition.
