The feature of this issue is the very displayable doublepage centerfold titled: "Christmas, 1863" which includes 6 vignettes by Thomas Nast, one showing Santa Claus with his bag over his back looking over two sleeping children (see). A very displayable print which measures about 16 by 21 inches.
The front page has two prints: "Hon. Schuyler Colfax, The New Speaker of the House" and "Capture of the Steamer 'Chesapeake' by British Pirates". Inside has a full page: "The Army of the Cumberland--Capture of Rebel Works at the White House on Lookout Mountain" and a full page with 5 scenes: "The Army of the Cumberland--Capture of Lookout Mountain" and yet another full page: "The Capture of Lookout Mountain--General Hooker Fighting Among the Clouds." which is by famed artist Thomas Nast.
Complete in 16 pages, the Nast centerfold is tipped in with tiny binding holes which are difficult to notice, generally in nice condition (see photos).
