April 04, 1862

DAILY DISPATCH, Richmond, Virginia, April 4, 1862

* From the Confederate capital
* First Battle of Kernstown, Virginia

A nice newspaper from the Confederate capital. The front page has war-related reports with: "Floyd's Brigade" "The Army of the Peninsula" "From Pig Point" and "From the Coast". There is also a lengthy list of: "The Battle of Kernstown--List of the Wounded".
Page 2 has a lengthy editorial: "What Is the Spirit of the South?" as well as a nice variety of small Civil War reports. Pages 3 & 4 are mostly ads but they do contain some war items also.
Four pages, various scattered foxing, nice condition.
