"The games was very satisfactorily umpired by Mr. Chapman, and proved to be quite interesting at times. T. Ward's play at first base was the best display on the Newark side. M. Campbell excelling on the other..."
The front page has: "SHIPWRECK" "The Loss of the Steamer Varuna..." which set sail from New York to Galveston, wrecked when it encountered "a perfect hurricane". The report is from one of the survivors.
