SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN SUPPLEMENT, New York, February 22, 1896  The front cover of the issue contains a very large illustration "Mining at Johannesburg -- Natives on the Way to Their Work". Also in the issue is wonderful prints and article of "BOOK PLATES OF CELEBRATED WOMEN OF THE WORLD" which are fascinating prints of the engravings these women made famous. "The New Poet Laureate" is about Mr. Alfred Austin whom replaced the late Mr. Tennyson. "The Graphics of Piano Touch" includes five illustrations and references MM. Binet and Courtier. "An Amphibious Boat" includes two illustrations.  Other articles and illustrations are included as well.

Complete in 16 pages measuring approximately 11 by 15 1/2 inches, a non-archival mend on an inside page, otherwise in very good condition.
