SPRINGFIELD REPUBLICAN, Massachusetts, Sept. 28, 1923 The top of the sports have has a terrific, early report on Lou Gehrig, his name mentioned in the banner headline: "GEHRIG'S HOME HELPS YANKS WIN---FLOOD OF REQUESTS FOR SERIES SEATS" plus there is a nice photo of him swinging, headed: "Lou Gehrig, Whose Home Run Helps New York Yankees Defeat Detroit".
Of significance is this was Gehrig's first Major League Baseball home run.
