Page 2 has: "New Orleans Before the Surrender" "The Surrender of Fort Macon" "The Monitor & the Virginia [Merrimac]" which begins: "Many persons wonder why the Monitor when she had crippled the Merrimac in their first encounter, did not pursue & sink her before she could reach Norfolk...". The back page includes a: "PROCLAMATION By the President, to the People of the Confederate States of America" signed in type: Jefferson Davis (see).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
