The front page has: "The War News" "Reported Death of Jeff. Davis" with the report noting: "A dispatch has been received to-day from Richmond via Louisville, announcing THE DEATH OF JEFF. DAVIS. This accounts for the display of flags at half-mast from the rebel ramparts to-day, Monday."
