THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London,  August, 1794  Included are: "Vindication of the Principles of Free-Masonry" "Remarks on Free Thinking" amongst much more. Lengthy on: "Proceedings of the National Convention in France" includes: "...Thomas Paine, with all the other foreigners, was expelled from the Convention by a Decree...". Also: "General Paoli's Speech at Furiani" followed by: "Sir Gilbert Elliot's Speech in the General Assembly of Corsica"
Included are the two of the three full page plates called for including one showing: "South View of Arundel Castle, Sussex".
Complete in 96 pages, 5 1/4 by 8 1/2 inches, full title/contents page with an engraving of St. John's Gate, nice condition.


A very nice magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
