ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, July 18, 1881

* Outlaw Jesse James-Younger gang
* Rock Island railroad train robbery
* Winston, Daviess County, Missouri

The top of page 4 has nice column heads on the famous Rock Island Railroad train robbery, one of the works by Jesse James and his gang. Heads: "AT IT AGAIN" "Missouri Disgraced by Another Train Robbery" "Winston, on the Rock Island Road, the Scene" "The Conductor Killed, Passengers Plundered, and the Treasure Taken". See the two reports for much detail. Nice that one accounts quotes: "...jumped up and said, 'Hold up your hands', and at the same moment fired..." (see).
This was one of more infamous train robberies from the Old West, these reports taking about half a column (see the hyperlink for more).
Complete in 12 pages, irregular at the spine margin, very nice condition.
