October 18, 1834
ATKINSON'S SATURDAY EVENING POST, Philadelphia, Oct. 18, 1834 The top of the front page has a nice illustration of "St. Paul's Church, New York", which is the oldest surviving church building in Manhattan. Known as 'The Little Chapel That Stood' with its survival during the September 11 attack, as the World Trade Center was less than 100 yards away (see hyperlink for much more). George Washington worshiped here on the day of his inauguration in 1789.
The lengthy caption of the print tells of its construction, is descriptive of its architecture, etc.
Four pages, the lower right corner is torn away but not remotely close to the noted content. Otherwise rather nice.
