THE NEW YORK TIMES, February 15, 1941

* Frank Leahy becomes ND coach (1st report)
* Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The sport's section (page 10) has a banner headline:
"Notre Dame Appoints Leahy, Boston College Coach, as Successor to Layden" with subheads that include: "ROCKNE PUPIL SIGNS FOR NEW JOB TODAY" and more with photo of Leahy (see photos). First report coverage on Frank Leahy becoming the new head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish college football team. Leahy would become one of the most successful coaches at ND. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 32 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Nice condition.
