Page 3 has: "The Mormons" which includes: "We have a most dismal account of the condition of the Mormons who undertook to migrate to California...attempted to raise a crop for their subsistence but failed to do so & have abandoned the Platte & are at Bellevue...said to be in a starving condition..." and a bit more. Pg. 2 has a brief bit noting: "Capture of Santa Fe" with: "...intelligence of the capture of Santa Fe by Gen. Kearney has been received. There was no fighting...".
Four pages, an old mend on pg. 2, rejoined at the spine, good condition.
