THE NEW YORK TIMES, March 4, 1875  The front page carries a report "NEW-MEXICO AND COLORADO." "In the House to-day... a resolution was presented to suspend the rules and take up the bills providing for  the admission to the Union of Colorado and New-Mexico. The bills were passed by the House at the last session... The Senate amend the bills so as to postpone the State elections until July, 1876... When the Colorado bill was reached the yeas and nays (Senate vote) were demanded on its passage, resulting in yeas 164, nays 76, and the bill passed..."
