March 10, 1941

THE BOSTON POST, March 10, 1941

* Strand Theatre fire disaster
* Firemen - firefighters
* Brockton, Massachusetts
* Early, same day report

Near the bottom of the front page is a one column heading: "THEATRE FIRE IN BROCKTON" with subheads. A very early, same day first report on the Strand Theatre fire in Brockton, Massachusetts. So early, the fate of the firefighters were not yet known. Nice to have in a publication close to the disaster, probably the reason for the early report here.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 16 pages, nice condition.

wikipedia notes: On March 10, 1941, thirteen Brockton firefighters lost their lives when the roof collapsed as they were fighting a fire at the Strand Theatre. That fire resulted in one of the worst firefighting tragedies in U. S. history.
