A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. The front page includes: "The Enemy On the Outskirts of Richmond--Fighting on the Brooke Turnpike--Latest from General Lee's Army--Movements on the South Side" which is quite lengthy, and includes a letter signed in type: R. E. Lee. Many subheads as well.
The back page begins with a lengthy editorial beginning: "It is to be regretted that the enemy's cavalry have failed to make the attack on the lines of Richmond anticipated by the authorities...". Also on the bkpg: "Progress of 'Negro Equality' " "A Fiddling Congress" and other items.
Single sheet issue, full banner masthead, very nice condition.
