The front page has "Voids Charge Against 3 of 93 in Alabama Trial", which includes: "The mass trial of Negro bus boycott leaders began today... Alabama judge Eugene Carter dismissed charges against three defendants, but ordered that individual trials against 90 others get underway at once." The article continues: "Thetford's first witness, James S. Bagley, testified that Rev. King had said he was 'tired of being treated with discourtesy' and that Negroes were 'tired of being treated as second class citizens.'" The coverage continues onto page 8. Labor-themed content appears throughout.
The issue is complete in 8 pages, is detached at the left spine with no loss, and has a few minor edge tears, has a few small holes on the back page which do not impact the key content (see last image),but is overall quite nice.
Note: The Daily Worker was a newspaper published in New York City by the Communist Party USA - the publication ending in the mid 1950's.
