March 03, 1933

THE NEW YORK TIMES, March 3, 1933

* Original King Kong movie...  1st movie review

This is an extremely significant issue, as page 12 contains the first review of the movie "King Kong", headed: "A Fantastic Film in Which a Monstrous Ape Uses Automobiles for Missiles and Climbs a Skyscraper" with the review taking about about a full column.
For any collector of King Kong memorabilia, this would be a cornerstone piece, rarely found today. Nice to have in this famous newspaper and where this movie was first shown to the public.
Other news of the day throughout with much on the upcoming 1st inauguration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Thirty-six pages, 3 large cutouts on three unrelated inside pages with the front page and page with mentioned content untouched, minor margin wear, otherwise quite nice.
