* Al Capone - Chicago gangster

Page 21 has one column headings that include: "DEATH FOR CAPONE, CRIES JUDGE LYLE" "Chicago Prosecutor Declares 'Wee Will Send Him to the Chair if Possible'" and more. (see) Firsrt report coverage on Judge John H. Lyle wanting to send Al Capone to the electric chair. Judge Lyle was known to charge many famous prohibition gangsters for vagrancy. Unusual report here. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 52 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Minor spine wear, very nice condition.
