Few could argue for a more recognizable title from the Old West, nor could any town be more linked to the romance of the West than this one. Tombstone is steeped in Western lore, and the several movies done concerning the gunfight at the O.K. Corral have kept this town in popular culture. This issue was printed just over a year before the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral. This is a very early issue, being volume 1, number 47.
The top of the front page features a large, illustrated stage coach ad. Most of the balance of the issue is taken up with various ads for Tombstone establishments, plus there are various legal notices concerning mines in the area. Among the ads is: "$100 Reward!" for the arrest of: "...M. Kelly, who attempted to murder Wm. Shaw, night foreman of Contention mine..." with details. Another ads is for; "Graves Dug, Fencing".
Complete in 4 pages, archivally rejoined at the spine plus some other archival mends at edges, minor chipping to the right margins, partial news agent's stamp above the masthead.
