THE FARMER'S WEEKLY MUSEUM: NEW HAMPSHIRE & VERMONT JOURNAL, Walpole, Dec. 10, 1798

* Lord Horatio Nelson letter
* Battle of the Nile victory
* Napoleon Bonaparte

A very historic issue as page 2 has the notable letter signed in type by: Horatio Nelson in which he announces his victory over Napoleon Buonaparte & the French army at the Battle of the Nile. It begins: "Almighty God has blessed his Majesty's arms in the battle by a great victory over the fleet of the enemy..." with much more. This is followed by a letter signed: Buonaparte,  headed: "Buonaparte's Proclamation" to the Arabs which announces, among other things: "...Every village that shall oppose the French army shall be burned to the ground...All places which are no more than 3 leagues distant from the rout of the French army shall send one of their principal inhabitants to the General to declare that they submit & will hoist the French flag, which is blue, white and red..." and more. Page 3 has several more letters signed: H. Nelson, from Egypt.
Four pages, archivally rejoined at the spine, very nice condition.
