THE MASSACHUSETTS MAGAZINE, Boston, April, 1794  The bulk of the issue is taken up with a wide range of eclectic articles as noted in the title/contents page, including: "Form of the Jewish Bill of Divorce" "Description of the Great Pyramid in Egypt" is concluded from a previous issue.
Near the back is the: "Monthly Gazette" which has news reports from Europe & America including a "Resolve" from Congress headed: "General Embargo" which is signed in type by the President & Vice President: Geo. Washington and John Adams. Another item: "National Gratitude" notes in part: "...granting a sum of money to the distinguished character (Marquis La Fayette) who was the first European who drew his sword & appropriated his property in the defence of American freedom & independence...". More as well (see).
Complete in 64 pages, full title/contents page, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, lacking the two plates called for, some margin wear & minor loss to the first several leaves, otherwise rather good.

Eighteenth century American magazines are increasingly scarce in today's market. This title was published  by the famed Isaiah Thomas, the patriot printer from the Revolutionary War & founder of the American Antiquarian Society.
