Funerals for Manson murder victims, before they knew of Manson's involvement...

Item # 627659

August 14, 1969

Shown is an original & historic old newspaper, offered to enhance your collectible interest: LEOMINSTER ENTERPRISE, Massachusetts, August 14, 1969

* Apollo 11 Broadway motorcade confetti celebration
* Sharon Tate and other Manson Murder victims' funeral
* Brief article regarding the murderer of William Lennon (father of the Lennon sisters)

A two column headline on page 7 reports on the funerals for the victims of the Charles Manson murders: "Murder Victims Tendered Farewells By Loved Ones" (Sharon Tate, Steven Parent, Abigail Folger, etc.). At this point the murderers had yet to be captured, nor did they even know who they were. The front page has "Astronauts Praise Nation" (with photos), being the celebration of the return of the Apollo 11 astronauts (Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong). Page 11 has an article: "Lennon's Killer May Have Been Mental Patient" (being William Lennon, father of the Lennon sisters).

A true blend of both triumphs and tragedies.

Complete in 12 pages, tiny binding holes at the blank spine margin, great condition.
