March 03, 1944
APAMAMA NUT I BEBA, March 3, 1944 This is a postage stamp size chunk of coral and trees in the Pacific, one of the Gilbert islands, not far from the Equator. In the masthead is: "Apamama's On The Map - With One Objective - Blast The Jap!"
This is a crudely produced "camp" newspaper for and by the military installation on this tiny island, single sheet, 8 by 13 inches. Three words have been blacked out for some reason, otherwise in great condition.
