The top of the front page has a two column heading: "Pershing of A. E. F. Is Dead; On Service Rolls 62 Years" with subhead and nice photo. (See) Much more on pages 12 & 13, loads of text.
The sport's section (page 22) has one column headings: "INDIANS TRIUMPH WITH PAIGE, 8 TO 5" "Top Athletics as Negro Star Scores in Relief..." This was Satchel Paige's very 1st victory in the Major Leagues. (age 42) Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 40 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Nice condition.
