Illinois joins the Union as the 21st state...

NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Dec. 8, 1818 page 2 begins with several Acts of Congress, the first of which is: "Resolution, declaring the admission of the state of Illinois into the Union" with the full text, signed in type by the President: James Monroe. Great to have this historic document in a newspaper from the nation's capital.
Among the other Acts is one to "...provide for the removal of the Library of Congress to the North Wing of the Capitol." Also a lengthy document: "Of the Seminole War".
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, loss at the right margin affects on the back leaf only.
