On page 2 under "The New French Empress" are details about the Empress Maria-Louisa and her wedding attire, as seen by an "America gentleman" who was present "...at the celebration of the nuptials of Napoleon, in Paris...". The bride is described as being "...above the common height...", possessing a "...good figure, blue eyes, and...a dignified deportment." About her opulent wedding attire, the account reports: "...she wore a crown of diamonds brilliant beyond description--her mantle was purple satin, with a double train [borne by five Queens] edged with diamonds....The gown alone cost 4500 dollars."
Four pages, nice condition.
