January 19, 1822

COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Jan. 19, 1822  Among the page 2 obituaries is one that reads: "Caesar Glover, a colored man, supposed to be about 80 years of age. He was brought from Africa as a slave, when a child. He served in the Revolutionary War, and was one of the Pensioners of the United States."
Very rare to have an obituary about an African-American who served in the Revolutionary War.
Other news reports includes: "More Piracy" "Next President" "Indian Execution" and more.
Four pages, some very light damp staining, good condition.
