* Early & rare Kit Carson mention

Page 2 has a report from "St. Louis" that mentions the famous explorer and guide Kit Carson. The report states that he left Santa Fe on June 25 and arrived at St. Louis with dispatches from California. Among the news is word that a party of fourteen Americans was attacked by one hundred Apache Indians near Taos, killing four and wounding eight of the former. Mentions that the Indians stole eighty horses during the engagement.
Uncommon to find reports mentioning Kit Carson, especially this early.
Other reports includes: "Slave Case at Washington" "Later From Yucatan" "Free Soil Movement in Virginia" and more with several advertisements.
Four pages in nice condition.
