March 25, 1899

THE BULLETIN, San Francisco, March 25, 1893

* The man who inspired the phrase "The Real McCoy"
* vs. Joe Choynski - 19th century professional boxing

The front page has nearly a full column report on a recent fight of boxer "Kid McCoy", with heads including: "KID M'COY TALKS ABOUT THE FIGHT"; "Wrenched His Shoulder in the Fifth"; "They Did Not Try Real Hard to Stop Choynski" with more (see).
Of noteworthy interest is that this is the person--as one theory speculates--who inspired the commonly used phrase "the real McCoy" to distinguish the genuine article, or the original. Of added significance is this newspaper is from the city where the mentioned fight was held--San Francisco.
Complete in twelve pages and in good condition with a bit of irregularity at the spine, not causing any loss of text.
