The front page has some editorial comment concerning the recent deaths of both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on the 50th anniversary of the 4th of July, taking over half of the page. Additional items are on the inside pages headed: "Adams and Jefferson" and "Honor To The Illustrious Dead!" with various reports on the funeral ceremonies. This coverage takes over two pages.  There is also an item on the: "Jefferson Lottery" including a letter from Monticello dated  Feb. 8 & signed in type : Th. Jefferson, concerning the lottery and his property.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches with lite damp staining, otherwise is in nice condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
