THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, March, 1815

* Battle of New Orleans is won by Andy Jackson
* The War of 1812 is over
- Treaty of Peace

Near the back under: "Abstract of Foreign Occurrences" is a report headed: "America" which begins: "Dispatches from Major General Lambert have related the total defeat of the British Army before New Orleans..." with a bit more detail, then: "...The Treaty of Peace, concluded at Ghent..;on the 24th of December last, was ratified at Washington, Feb. 17, at 11 p.m." Nice to have these two notable reports in a British publication. It is curious that the Battle of New Orleans was actually fought a month after the treaty of peace was signed.
Complete in 98 pages with a full title/contents page, never-trimmed margins, 5 1/2 by 9 inches, very nice condition. Lacking the plate called for.
