As would be expected from a D.C. paper, much reporting from Congress including talk on funding the army. Page 3 has: "Late From Mexico" which has the address of the Mexican vice president. Also a letter which begins: "The war is not finished so soon as people here believed, for they thought that, by striking a couple of blows like those of the 8t & 9th of May...they would be able to obtain such a treaty as they desire, that is, giving them the Californias & other possessions in the north of Mexico..." with more. Also: "Extract of a Letter to a Member of Congress" dated on board the "U.S. frigate Raritan" concerning the Mexican War. More reports on the war as well.
Four pages, very nice condition.
