October 30, 1735

THE OLD WHIG OR THE CONSISTENT PROTESTANT, London, October 30, 1735

* Very rare title
* Early 18th century British original

This is a very rare title, and early as well for a folio-size newspaper (9 1/2 by 14 1/2 in). This title only published for 4 years. Page 2 has an account of a murder, and the back page has an account of a highway robbery by a "highwayman" noting in part: "...the highwayman pull'd Sir William off his horse & dragged him out of the road & robbed him of his money, watch, and snuff-box..." with more. (see)
A full red-inked tax stamp appears on the front page.
Complete in four pages, margins were never trimmed and is in nice condition. A rare opportunity to add a scarce title to your 18th century collection.
