* re. Albert W. Hicks hanging at Liberty Island
* Last pirate executed in the United States


The front page has: "Political Affairs" with subheads including: "Politics by the Roadside--The Coming Presidential Election--Lincoln's Prospects...". Page 4 has: "Execution of the Pirate Hicks on Bedloe's Island" reporting on his upcoming hanging (see). Hicks was the last person to be executed for piracy in the United States (see hyperlink for more).
