December 23, 1775

PENNSYLVANIA EVENING POST, Philadelphia, Dec. 23, 1775  Front page report mentions the meeting of a Provincial Congress in Charlestown, South Carolina. Interesting ftpg. letter concerning a runaway slave on board a British ship. Pg. 2 has political reports from New York & Philadelphia, including mention that: "...pursue every measure which the Congress may recommend to them as necessary for the preservation of these colonies at this time of imminent danger.", and noting that John Hancock is President of the Congress.
Pg. 2 also have some military reports, including measures needed to protect the western frontier. Pg. 3 has some reports concerning troubles with Indians. The bkpg. has a great editorial: "The American Editor to his Countrymen" (see photos).
Some light browning and wear to corners.
