Page 3 has a quite inconspicuous review of what would become one of the more notable literary works of the 19th century, "Moby Dick", or as it was originally known. It was published first in England, just 13 days before this review, and was originally titled: "The Whale". Within the body of various reports under "Town Talk and Table Talk" is the review, which includes: "...Herman Melville's last and best and most wildly imaginative story, The Whale...will worthily support his reputation for singularly vivid and reckless imaginative power -- great aptitude for quaint and original philosophical speculation, degenerating, however, too often into rhapsody and purposeless extravagance -- an almost unparalleled power over the capabilities of the language..." Complete in 24 pages with the "Supplement" issue, nice condition.
