THE STAR, Guernsey, Nov. 9, 1943 This newspaper was published on this island in the English Channel and was occupied by the Germans during almost all of WWII. During the Nazi occupation they took over this newspaper and filled it with pro-German propaganda, offering a unique insight into how the Axis reported the news during the war.
Consequently, the pro-Nazi front page heads are of little surprise: "The Fuehrer Speaks", with accompanying subheads: "The End of our Journey will be Victory", Britain Warned that Retaliation is Coming for Terror Raids". Also: "'Vile Crime' of the Vatican", Japs. Sunk 2 Aircraft Carriers: 4 Cruisers", and "London Bombed Six Nights in Succession".
Four pages, foxing at the fold, very nice condition.
