* Seal of the U.S. Supreme Court established

On page 3 under "New-York--Feb. 6, 1790" is the recent business conducted by the Supreme Court, beginning with: "Wednesday last the Supreme Court of the United States, met...An order was read, appointing John Tucker, Esq. [late clerk to the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts] their Clerk --who was accordingly qualified..."
There is a second, more historic order that was read concerning the creation of the Seal of the Supreme court: "It was ordered, that the Seals of the Supreme and District Courts, should be the Arms of the United States--The former of Steel, size of a Dollar--the latter of silver, size of a half dollar."
More, with details about the three men who were admitted as "Counselors at the Supreme Court of the United States", plus three more orders, including one that reads: "Ordered, That the stile of all Writs and Processes from the Supreme Court of the United States, be in the Name of the President Of The United States."
First leaf has two small archival mends, front page has some stray writing in the left margin, some foxing, otherwise in nice condition. Four pages.
