NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Maryland, May 6, 1815  The issue begins with over 9 pages on the Napoleonic Wars in Europe which includes a speech headed: "Napoleon, by the grace of God and the Constitution of the state, emperor of the French - To The Army" signed: Napoleon. This is followed by seven more letters by him, each signed: Napoleon, all being from shortly after his escape from the island of Elba and his return to lead the French.  He would soon meet his end at the Battle of Waterloo on June 18.
There are two pages filled with charts of "Pennsylvania Statistics". Other news of the day as well.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches, in very nice condition.
This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia it: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
