THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London,  November, 1751  Over three pages are taken up with: "Some Account of the Life, Character, and Writings of the late Celebrated Dr. Jonathan Swift...". There is a full page print showing five Inca leaders of Peru (see).
An article: "Occulation of Jupiter" includes 3 prints of it (see).
Other items in this issue include: "An Account of a very successful Method of Cure in the ulcerated Sore Throat" "How to use the Divining Rods" and so much more.
Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" which has various news reports from throughout Europe.
Complete in 48 pgs. with full title/index page which contains an engraving of St. John's Gate. One page has a library stamp at the bottom not causing loss of readability. Measures about 5 1/4 by 8 inches.

A very nice pre-Revolutionary War magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content including news of the day, political reports, literary items, and other unusual tidbits. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
