COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, July 28, 1798

* Gallipolis, Ohio French settlers
* Thomas Jefferson & John Adams

Half of the front page is taken up with five Acts of Congress, each signed in script type by the President: John Adams. The fifth Act carries over to page 2.
One of the front page Acts is: "An Act to Authorize a grant of Land to Stephen Monot, & others, inhabitants of Galliopolis, there in named." This town in Ohio was settled by French aristocrats who escaped the guillotine in pre-Revolutionary France.
Four pages, several tears at margins, a few archival mends on page 2, scattered foxing & edge chipping.
