THE DETROIT FREE PRESS, Michigan, Sept. 30, 1924 The sports page has a one column head reading: "Rogers Hornsby Sets Two New Batting Records" "Cardinal Slugger Passes Marks Made by Sisler, Cobb and Wagner" with the text including: "...took a place beside the greatest hitters in baseball history. In the season closed here yesterday, Hornsby established two new records, one in batting average and the other in leading his league for the fifth consecutive season. Hornsby finished with 227 hits in 142 games, making a season's average of .42351, four points above George Sisler's mark...".
Complete in 26 pages, a library stamp in the upper right corner, generally good condition.
