Front page coverage on William Kemmler, who had the dubious distinction of being the first person to die by the electric chair. One column headings: "KEMMLER" "Everything In Readiness For His Execution" "Reports Of His Last Hours" and more. (see) Text takes up 1 1/2 columns. He would be executed on this day. Nice to have in a Philadelphia paper, his hometown.
Other news of the day. Complete in 8 pages, large issue measuring 29 x 21 inches, a little margin wear with small tears, generally good. Should be handled with care.
